Nancy Vanderlee, Organist and Director of Music

Nancy Vanderlee has served from 1988-1998 and 2000-present as music director
and organist at St. Peter’s, Lithgow, in Millbrook, Dutchess County, New York.
In addition, Nancy works as a music specialist in the Hyde Park School District,
maintains a private flute and piano studio, and performs as a freelance musician.
Her students have performed with the Hudson Valley Philharmonic, on WMHT-TV,
in Bardavon professional opera productions, NYSSMA, DCMEA festivals, and the
American Boychoir.

Nancy has taught K-12 vocal and instrumental music, class piano for children and
adults, music theory, and an intergenerational choir. She has performed under the
baton of Michael Tilson-Thomas, Robert Shaw, and Eugene Ormandy. Nancy has
served as a conductor for the Cappella Festiva Treble Choir Festival. Currently, she
performs with the Ashokan Wind Quintet.

Nancy earned a B.M. at the Crane School of Music, SUNY Potsdam, and has pursued
graduate studies through Crane and Westminster Choir College. Professional
memberships include the Dutchess County Music Educators’ Association (DCMEA),
American Choral Directors’ Association (ACDA), and the American Guild of
Organists (CHVAGO).
